But once the horses were very tired and they felt very hungry and thirsty. When Lord Surya saw the pitiable condition of the horse, he was moved. On the way he took the horses to the bank of a pond. But they had no idea at all that as soon as the horses stopped, there would be an uproar in the whole universe. When horses start drinking water, the whole world comes to a standstill and many kinds of difficulties start appearing. In such a situation, he saw that two khar i.e. donkeys were standing on the bank of the pond. He immediately started pulling the donkeys by attaching them to the chariot. But the speed of the donkeys was very less. Due to the slow speed, somehow it completes one round in a month. After this, Suryadev again starts roaming the universe at a high speed by connecting the horses. It will take a whole month in a cart pulled by donkeys. That is why it is called Kharmas.
